Orbs are believed or thought to be balls of small floating bubbles of light energy. Many believe they are deceased ghostly life forms, and are believed to be the actual photographic proof of the human soul or life force. Many Ghost Hunters/ Chasers or paranormal investigators encounter them during haunted investigations frequently.

What are orbs?
Dust / Water / Insects --- Ghost?
Experiments have
shown us that orbs can be caused by dust and water
droplets lit up by the flash . This is also the official
explanation offered by several known sources. Insects
can also reflect the flash of the camera. As can water
vapor or dust in the air.
Ghostly orbs can appear
to be be completely transparent, or display themselves
in a bright solid hard light forms. It is not hard
to capture them on film in their circular form. It
is theorized in many forums that ghosts prefer the
form of an Orb (ball or bubble of light) because it
takes less physical or mental energy, thus being the
mode of choice among the dead.
Others say they believe actual ghost feels or thinks they are in solid human form or shape, and it is that on this dimension (ours) that we receive them as an orb. The general open consensus is that small orbs take up the least amount of energy and apparitions and other fuller shapes take up the most. Please also see: ORBS DEFINED?
Dr. Klaus Heinemann,
a former research professor at Stanford University
and researcher in materials science for NASA, the
American space agency says ‘ There is no doubt
in my mind that the Orbs may well be one of the most
significant ‘outside of this reality’
phenomena mankind at large has ever witnessed’.

Mysterious ghostly orbs perplex researchers --- newsmonster.co.uk
I just thought I would share some recent orb pictures I took this weekend at the Helenium Wake band practice in Mandeville, Louisiana.

In this photo of the drummer Reid, I see three orbs! Is this place full of ghosts? Same room, same day, same camera. Other pictures did not have these orbs. Though orbs can be acceptably defined there are different schools of thought on what these bizarre little globules actually are. Many, most especially detractors of the use of digital photography, believe the spheres of light to be merely the presence of debris – dust, pollen, water droplets - on the camera lens or at best the failure of the digital technology to maximize available light (flash or ambient) in particular situations resulting in gapping that appears suspiciously three dimensional in comparison to the remainder of the photograph. To this group, there is nothing whatsoever supernatural about the orb phenomena.
Another group, while remaining skeptical about the validity of orbs as actual manifestations of spirit energy, nonetheless adhere to the belief in at least the existence of the spirit world and in the ability of its denizens – usually operating under some strict law of natural physics – to manifest themselves in any number of forms, including orbs. This line of thought is usually further qualified with astute and informed scientific validations regarding the spirit use of nascent available energy sources – such as those emanating from batteries, power and utility lines, and people – to “get their energy” in order to appear in orb form. That the form would be globule or sphere-like in nature is also conjectured as the most “natural” form of manifestation available to the spirit entity.
Then there is, of
course, the large mass of “believers”
in the orb phenomenon as indisputable proof not only
of the existence of ghosts and spirits, but also of
their unfailing propensity to appear most often as
little, supposedly innocuous balls of light. Sometimes
the little spheres have faces – smiley faces,
frowny faces, and even animal faces. That these enthusiastic
orb supporters generally produce copious volumes of
photographic “evidence” of sphere-like
ghosts in action in reputedly haunted places, most
often in cemeteries, only muddies the water for those
who seek undisputable, scientifically verifiable proof
of paranormal phenomena.

My opinion? I
know that they are orbs. I know that they are anomalies.
Although remaining sceptical at the possibility of
such a conclusion, incredulously Heinemann also found
that during his numerous dual camera experiments,
a single orb shape would often appear, but only in
one of the two images simultaneously taken from two
separate cameras – again implying intelligence
and intention. As the orbs literally chose which camera
to appear on, or whether to appear at all .
About these orbs other than the fact that I did not put them there in these photos. These real orb ghost photos are not altered, doctored or re-touched in any way. I will admit that I turned the picture of my friend Claire counter clockwise and made these photos jpgs so that you could view them. I left them in the original large format, too. But, this is what the camera saw. It was not in my field of view.
